Trail 5   Thrill Seeker

“Fetch the ball ,Teddy! “

“I wish I never ate that spicy curry last night!”

Anyone that likes a bit of an adrenalin rush then you should take this hike. You will start hiking up through tea plantations with views of Adam’s Peak and lake   Mausakelle in the background. Then once you reach where the tea plantations stop it is a very steep up hill 20 minute hike through thick bushes and trees. Once at the top the views of Adam’s Peak, lake Mausakelle and the surrounding area are amazing as you can imagine. The hike down the other side then gets a bit tricky and at times quite scary. Imagine hacking through thick forest on a face of a mountain. The very last part you have to cross a rock with a very thin trickle of water running down it. The surface is very, very slippy and one false mistake is fatal as you will slide down about 30 feet onto rocks and something will definitely break and it won’t be the rocks. I had to take my shoes off as I could not get any grip and get as low as possible. I’m afraid I don’t have pictures of this as my life was more important and taking a picture was the last thing on my mind. I was told there’s another way but is longer. Or you can go back down the way you came which is a lot easier but won’t satisfy that rush you are looking for.  WARNING! This hike really isn’t for the faint hearted and 2 guides will be needed.
